Mid to late 1950s, as rockabilly exploded out of Memphis and swept across America, a remarkable yet largely overlooked chapter of the story was unfolding in West Portsmouth, Ohio. In 1958, Glenn McKinney founded Nau-Voo Records, driven by a passion for the new, hard-edged sound of rock ’n’ roll. Within just two years, McKinney produced only ten singles on his Nau-Voo and Mack labels – but those scarce releases have since become prized treasures among rockabilly collectors.
